Mists of Antiquity began as an anthology of anachronistic aristocratic anecdotes
selected for the greater part from the vast collection of fantasies
included in the "histories" of those families who "came in with the Conqueror" or who "owned vast estates in England before the Conqueror ever came
to Hastings". Subsequently these were expanded to include other items of interest
